My current work is created in an abstract or non-representational format to portray the shapes and forms that catch my eye. Much of my inspiration comes from objects that most people walk by without a second glance; a peeling brick wall, a rusty steel boat hull, the streaks of color peeling from various objects. An Abstract is created of the composition with a mix of mood and inspiration that occurs while in the act of creating. Sometimes the end product can be radically different from the original composition as the painting takes on a life of its own. The intention of the original concept always ends up giving way to the spirit and the creative feeling that happens in the studio.
