Encaustic wax painted on cradled panel. This painting was created from a picture of a beautiful desert flower I saw at “Lotus Land” in Santa Barbara. Lotus Land is one of the most amazing previously private gardens that has been opened to the public and has an incredible array of plantings. This piece has many layers of color to show the depth of this beautiful flower. The texture of the piece is very pleasing and in the lower left hand corner is a secret message, “embrace”.
